Nwanze Tackles 'Challenges and Opportunities' for Africa

DELAWARE, OHIO -- Dr. Michael Nwanze, a professor of political science specializing in international law, international relations and comparative politics at Howard University, will speak at Ohio Wesleyan on Thursday, April 13 at 4 p.m. in the Benes Room of the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center. Professor Nwanze's lecture on "Africa: Challenges and Opportunities in the New Millennium" is sponsored by OWU's Woltemade Center and Black World Studies program.

He will conduct a noon luncheon discussion on "A Search for Identity: Africa's Search for Her Rightful Place in the International Community," in the Bayley Room of Beeghly Library.

Professor Nwanze holds a B.Sc. in economics from the University of London and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Leeds, England. Before teaching at Howard University, Professor Nwanze taught at the University of Exeter, England and the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

While at Howard, he has held adjunct positions at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service. Professor Nwanze is currently the director of Undergraduate Program in the Department of Political Science and also directs the annual Seminar in Diplomacy.
