Faculty Recital Features Sonatas by Debussy, Janacek, Franck

[ Fujiwara and Bennett Photo ]DELAWARE, OHIO -- Korine Fujiwara, violin and Cameron Bennett, piano -- two members of Ohio Wesleyan's faculty ensemble in residence, The Duvall Trio -- will present a recital at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, in Jemison Auditorium of Sanborn Hall. This program will feature sonatas by Debussy, Janácek and Franck. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Duvall Trio, originally in residence at Ohio Wesleyan from 1952-73, was re-formed during the 1994-95 season. Current members are pianist Cameron Bennett, violinist Korine Fujiwara and cellist Wendy Morton. The trio's other concert date this month -- April 11 -- has now been rescheduled for the Fall 2000 semester.

Bennett, a member of the OWU faculty since 1992 and current department chairman, has had an active career performing as both soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States, Canada, Russia and the Far East. He is presently the Executive Director of the MidAmerica Chamber Music Festival & Institute, which enters its sixth season in June and July 2000.

Fujiwara, a faculty member since 1993, has performed as soloist, chamber musician and an orchestral player throughout this country, Canada and the United Kingdom. She performs regularly with the Columbus Symphony and the Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra. She is also on faculty of the MidAmerica Chamber Music Institute.
