Duvall Trio Recital Showcases Works by Beethoven, Brahms

[ Duvall Trio Photo ]DELAWARE, OHIO -- The Duvall Trio, Ohio Wesleyan's faculty ensemble in residence, will present a recital at 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, in Jemison Auditorium.

This program will feature Beethoven's Piano Trio in C minor, Op. 1 No. 3 and Brahms' Piano Trio No. 2 in C major, Op. 87. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Duvall Trio, originally in residence at Ohio Wesleyan from 1952-73, was re-formed during the 1994-95 season. Current members are pianist Cameron Bennett, violinist Korine Fujiwara and cellist Wendy Morton.

Bennett, a member of the OWU faculty since 1992 and current department chairman, has had an active career performing as both soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States, Canada, Russia and the Far East.

Fujiwara, a faculty member since 1993, has performed as soloist, chamber musician, and an orchestral player throughout this country, Canada and the United Kingdom. She performs regularly with the Columbus Symphony and the Pro Musica Chamber Orchestra.

Morton, a faculty member since 1999, is the assistant principal cellist of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. She is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and has performed with the Honolulu Symphony, Santa Fe Opera Orchestra, and the Brandenburg Ensemble under the direction of Alexander Schneider.
