Columbus Native Kristina Isabelle Debuts Dance Pieces for PA/LS

[ 'Levels and Lines Part 2' Troupe Photo ]DELAWARE, OHIO -- Ohio Wesleyan's Performing Arts and Lecture Series (PA/LS) presents an evening of extraordinary dance and choreography by Columbus native Kristina Isabelle, featuring Columbus-based dancers and performers. The program on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 8 p.m. in OWU's Chappelear Drama Center will include two premieres and other original works by the dancer/choreographer. Levels and Lines Part 2, features one dancer on three-foot high stilts and five dancers on the ground. Running Scared is a solo piece performed to the music of Meredith Monk, Folk Rites is a quartet inspired by the storytelling music of jazz trumpet player Dave Douglas, and a duet entitled Streamers uses the New Zealand art of spinning poi balls. An untitled duet will feature live music by Columbus jazz guitarist Brett Allen.

Isabelle's work has been produced in New York, California, Ohio, England, and Ireland. She has an M.F.A. in dance and choreography from The Ohio State University, and a B.F.A. from the Juilliard School. In addition to original works inspired by art and music, an untitled dance duet will feature live music by Columbus jazz guitarist Brett Allen.
