OWU Theatre Takes Audiences into 'World of Carl Sandburg'

[ 'The World of Carl Sandburg' Cast Photo ]DELAWARE, OHIO -- On Friday, Feb. 2; Saturday, Feb. 3; Friday, Feb. 9, Saturday, Feb. 10; and Sunday, Feb. 11, the Ohio Wesleyan Department of Theatre and Dance will present The World of Carl Sandburg in the Studio Theatre of Chappelear Drama Center. The performances begin at 8 p.m., with the exception of the Sunday matinee, which begins at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 for OWU students and seniors, $6 for faculty and staff, and $7 for general admission.

Originally written to be performed by major Hollywood stars, the play is based on the often humorous work of poet Carl Sandburg.

"[The World of Carl Sandburg] is a wonderful actor's piece and delightful for audiences" says the play's director, professor Elane Denny. "Sandburg's poetry is both profound and light-hearted."

The cast includes senior Stephen Cady, senior Damien Crim, sophomore Emily Fillmore, senior Kemi George, and sophomore Pavi Prasad. Costume design is provided by sophomore Allison Stacy, lighting design by sophomore Seth Reiser, and set design by guest artist Stephanie Gerckens. Senior Yamini Namjoshi serves as the production's stage manager.
