OWU Executive-in-Residence Talks About Corporate Revitalization

DELAWARE, OHIO -- Charles M. Berger, the Executive-in-Residence for the Woltemade Center for Economics, Business and Entrepreneurship at Ohio Wesleyan University, will speak on Thursday, Sept. 12, as part of the 2002 Robert L. Milligan Leaders in Business Lecture Series. His presentation, entitled "Making Good Companies Great," is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the R.W. Corns Building, room 312.

Berger, whose 40-year business career includes leadership positions at Scotts Company and H.J. Heinz Company, became OWU's Executive-in-Residence in January 2002. The program was designed to link students with accomplished business professionals who offer a practical career planning focus for students. Through campus lectures, classroom visits and informal discussions, Berger shares information and "real world" experiences with students who are eager to understand, as he explains, "how senior executives come up the [career] ladder by knowing the ropes."

Recently retiring as CEO of Scotts Company, Berger remains Chairman of the company and previously served as Chairman and CEO of Heinz, including Heinz India and Heinz Italy. He also held positions of Chairman and CEO of Weight Watchers International, a Heinz affiliate.
