OWU's Flanagan Takes 'Version 2.0' to Columbus Festival

DELAWARE,
OHIO -- Bob Flanagan, Professor Emeritus of English at Ohio Wesleyan,
and co-writer Sheldon Gleisser, filmmaking instructor at Columbus College
of Art and Design, were awarded one of three Greater Columbus Arts Council's
$5,000 Playwriting Fellowships for their play, Version 2.0.
One of eight play manuscripts selected out of 108 submissions to the Columbus theatre company, CATCO, Version 2.0 will be produced during the company's Shorts Festival, Airport 2002, scheduled in May. The play is about an artificial intelligence creature that was created, and the importance of reaching out to other cultures and lifestyles -- especially relevant since the Sept. 11 tragedies.
The Shorts Festival previews May 7-9, with opening night on May 10, and runs until June 2 at the Riffe Center in Columbus.
