DELAWARE, OHIO -- Ohio Wesleyan University will present a concert celebrating the African-American Spiritual, covering arrangements from major choral composers throughout the 20th and 21st century, on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. in Gray Chapel.

Special highlights of the concert will feature the OWU Choral Art Society, joined by the Cincinnati School for the Creative and Performing Arts, Fort Hayes High School, Mansfield High School, and the Central Ohio Interdenominational Choir. The concert finale features arrangements by the highly acclaimed composer and performer, Moses Hogan.

"When the Fiske Jubilee Singers embarked on their first U.S. tour in 1871, spirituals became an important part of choral repertoire," says Patricia O'Toole, director of music education and coordinator of choral activities at OWU.

The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call 740-368-3700.
