![]() OWU's Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity Receives National Award September 13, 2004
The award is given bi-annually to two chapters of the fraternity that most accurately embody and promote the values and principles of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. The Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi at OWU accepted the award, along with several other citations and individual scholarships during the three-day conference. "The gentlemen at Ohio Wesleyan continue to set a shining example for the rest of our brotherhood," said Drew Thawley, Alpha Sigma Phi CEO. The award is also very special because of great efforts and determination from many. "As an alumnus of Ohio Wesleyan and fellow classmate of many of the young men who worked so hard in the late 90's to re-establish Alpha Sigma Phi at OWU, I am so impressed with their resilience, determination, and follow-through," said Chris Cortina, Assistant Director of Student Activities for Greek Life at Ohio Wesleyan. "They battled a lot to get where they are now, and they can finally see the ultimate fruits of their labor." The Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi was founded at Ohio Wesleyan in 1863, and has a strong tradition of brotherhood and friendship. |
