October 18, 2004

[ Chi Phi Haunted House ] DELAWARE, OHIO -- Sometimes scary can be good -- and that's the case with Chi Phi's 20th Annual Haunted House.

The Ohio Wesleyan Alpha Chi chapter of Chi Phi will host the haunted house at 216 N. Franklin St. in Delaware on Oct. 28 from 8 p.m.-11 p.m., and Oct. 29-30 from 8 p.m.-1 a.m. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for kids age 12 and under. All proceeds go towards Big Brother/Big Sister. Bring a canned good to save a maximum of $2 per personÑthe canned good will be donated to People in Need (PIN).

Tom Brown, an OWU sophomore and University Communications chair of Chi Phi, said that the fraternity enjoys the tradition of the haunted house. "We have fun setting it up, and at the same time we provide a service for the community," he said.

Chi Phi was founded in 1824 at Princeton University. The OWU chapter holds other community service events including soup kitchens and an Easter egg hunt. The three principles of Chi Phi are truth, honesty, and personal integrity.
