Academy-Award Nominated Movie Producer Showing at OWU

Delaware, Ohio -- Ohio Wesleyan University brings producer Fred Baron and "Moulin Rouge" together for a movie viewing and presentation at the Strand Theatre on Wednesday, March 2 at 7 p.m. "Moulin Rouge" will also show at the Strand Theatre on Tuesday, March 1 at 9:15 p.m.
 
Baron, a 1976 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan, served as a producer on "Moulin Rouge" which was nominated for best picture in 2001 by the Academy and American Film Institute. Baron is currently an executive producer for the BBC comedy "According to Bex," which debuted in January. Baron has also worked as co-producer on several segments from HBO's "Tales from the Crypt" series and as associate producer on TV's "Laguna Heat." Baron has also served as production associate on "1969," location coordinator for "The Man with Two Brains," production assistant for "Continental Divide," and first assistant director on "Stand Alone."
 
Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor stars in "Moulin Rouge," a period piece taking place in Paris around the turn of the 20th century.
 
The movie and Baron's presentation are free. The Performing Arts Series and University Film Series sponsor the showing of "Moulin Rouge" and Baron's presentation.
