![]() OWU Grad Moves into Elite 18 on Jeopardy May 5, 2005
The third-round pits the 18 winners from round two in a one-show match-up with the winners keeping their winnings (guaranteed at least $30,000) and the losers collecting $15,000. The six winners will advance to the semifinals where they will split into two groups and compete in a two-day total points challenge. The two semifinal winners will advance to square-off against Ken Jennings in a three-day total point challenge. Zielenski won $47,300 during two runs on the show in 1995. During the season, he won the "Teen Tournament of Champions" amassing $42,300 in winnings, which at the time was the highest amount in a two-day tournament. He also won $5,000 as a contestant on the show's "Tournament of Champions."Zielenski lives in Cleveland and is a research analyst for the Fredonia Group.
