Population Connection's President to Speak at OWU

DELAWARE, OHIO - John Seager, President and CEO of Population Connection, will speak Thursday, October 27, 7:30 in the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center's Benes room (40 Rowland Avenue) will discuss family planning in the Islamic world as part of Ohio Wesleyan's Sagan National Colloquium. This year's theme is "The United States and the Islamic World: Challenges and Prospects."

Formerly with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Seager joined the staff of Population Connection in 1996 and was appointed President and Chief Executive Office in January of 2005. He has also served as the Chief of Staff, Communications Director and District Director for former U.S. Representative Peter H. Kostmayer (PA-8). He holds a B.A. in political science from Trinity College, Hartford.

Seager's discussion will center on the challenges of family planning programming in the Middle East. As president of Population Connection, Seager oversees the organization's programs and policies. Population Connection is America's progressive grassroots population organization that helps educate young people and advocates progressive action to stabilize world population at a level that can be sustained by Earth's resources.
