October 4, 2005

Stephen LynchDELAWARE, OHIO -- Comedic musician Stephen Lynch will perform at Ohio Wesleyan University on Oct. 28, at 9 p.m. in University Hall's Gray Chapel (61 S. Sandusky St., Delaware).

Tickets for the show are currently available to Ohio Wesleyan students, with tickets going on sale to the public on Oct. 24 for $10. For more information on the performance or tickets, contact Ohio Wesleyan's Student Activities Office at 740-368-3188.

Lynch has always been a lover of music, but This is Spinal Tap provided him with the direction to become a comedic singer songwriter. Lynch moved to New York City in 1996 and began disarming audiences with his sweet-voice and blindsiding them with his lyrics.

Lynch launched his third CD "The Craig Machine" on Tuesday (Oct. 3) on the independent What Are Records label. He recorded "The Craig Machine" live at Symphony Space in New York City. His first two CDs, "A Little Bit Special" (2000) and "Superhero" (2002) are among iTunes Top 100 selling independent albums.

In December, Lynch will begin rehearsals as the star of the Broadway musical, "The Wedding Singer," which is based on the 1998 Adam Sandler movie of the same title. Lynch will play Robbie Hart (Sandler's role in the movie) in the production that is scheduled to open in the spring.

Lynch has performed at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, has been featured on Comedy Central's "The World Comedy Tour" taped in Melbourne Australia, on Comedy Central's "The World Stand's Up" taped in London and has made four appearances on NBC's "Last Call with Carson Daly."
