Senior VP of Retail Forward, Inc., Mary Whitfield, to Speak at OWU

[ Mary Brett Whitfield ] DELAWARE, OHIO -- Mary Brett Whitfield, senior vice president at Retail Forward, Inc. of Columbus, will speak at Ohio Wesleyan University on Tue., April 12. Her lecture, "Retailing in an Age of Uncertainty," is at 3:10 p.m. in room 312 of the R.W. Corns Building. The talk is free and open to the public.
 
Whitfield is director of the Retail Forward Intelligence System. She oversees the development of approximately 40 different research publications a year on a variety of topics in the retail industry. Whitfield is a regular contributor to the program, writing about consumer shopping behavior, softgoods retailing and e-retailing. Her work has appeared in the trade press, including Supermarket News, Chain Store Age Executive and Women's Wear Daily.
 
Whitfield has over 12 years of consulting experience with retailers and consumer products companies and four years of experience at retail companies in market research, strategic planning and sales development roles. Her consulting specialties include industry and company analysis, competitive positioning and primary consumer research. Her clients have included, among many others, Limited Brands, Saks Fifth Avenue, Pepsi, SpeedwaySuperAmerica and Kmart Corporation.
 
Previously, Whitfield has worked for Pearle Vision, Inc., Pier 1 Imports, Inc., and was most recently a director of PricewaterhouseCoopers and director of the E-Retail Intelligence System®. She has a bachelor's degree in economics from Smith College and an MBA from The University of Oklahoma.
