OWU Selected as OCC President's Honor Roll Finalist

November 2, 2006

Ohio Wesleyan University is one of 10 Ohio Campus Compact (OCC) members selected recently as honor roll  finalists for the President’s Excellence in General Community Service.

Placing special emphasis this year on recognizing service activities related to the Gulf Coast hurricanes of 2005, the honor roll program is trying to increase public awareness of the contributions that college students are making in their local communities and across the country as well.

“Ohio Wesleyan has long been at the forefront as a leader of community service and more widespread volunteer efforts,” says Sue Pasters, director of community service learning at Ohio Wesleyan. “This year is special, in that it marks the 20th anniversary of [the national] Campus Compact.”

Other OCC members who were recognized in this year’s honor roll are: Kent State University; Marietta College; Mount Union College; Ohio Dominican College; Ohio University; University of Akron; Urbana University; and Wilmington College.
