Performance of Boston Marriage Coming To Ohio Wesleyan

January 26, 2006

DELAWARE, Ohio -- New York based Highwire Productions will bring Boston Marriage to Ohio Wesleyan on Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. in Chappelear Drama Center (45 Rowland Ave.) as a Performing Arts Series event.

Page Clements, Mary Ethel Schmidt and Ursula Lovemore Chase bring David Mamet's Boston Marriage to life on stage. "Boston Marriage, as performed by the Highwire Company, finally received the richly rewarding sense of style, comedy and bitter sweetness that was totally absent from the short-live Broadway production, said New York City's Terry Shrieber.

Boston Marriage is a comedy about two women of fashion in the early 20th century. Anna and Claire battle of their affairs of the heart with a dazzling wit and passionate wordplay, taking occasional respites from each other to torture their hapless Scottish maid.

Highwire is a theatre company focused on bringing professional productions and actor-led workshops to university students. Founded by Schmidt and Clements the group focuses its workshops on sharing with students the vocal, physical and acting skills necessary to perform monologues and scenes from Shakespeare.

Tickets for the performance are $15 for general admission or $5 for Ohio Wesleyan students and can be purchased now at  www.ticketweb.com. For more information, contact the Performing Arts Series at 740-368-3629.
