Michael Flamm Named Exemplary Teacher of the Year at OWU

DELAWARE, Ohio — Michael Flamm, associate professor of history, was selected as the 2006 recipient of The Bishop Francis Emner Kearns Award. This honor includes Flamm’s designation by the national United Methodist Church as the Exemplary Teacher of the Year from Ohio Wesleyan and nomination for the national Outstanding Educator Award from the United Methodist Foundation. According to Chaplain Jon Powers, Flamm was the unanimous choice of the
on-campus Religious Life Committee and the Board of Trustees’ Committee on Religious Life. Flamm was nominated for the award by the senior class of 2006. The Exemplary Teacher of the Year Award honors the OWU faculty member who best exemplifies faithful witness to the ethical, spiritual and missional values of OWU as delineated in the University’s 1842 charter and current statement of aims.

Flamm will receive the award at the beginning of the Baccalaureate service in Gray Chapel on May 13 at 8 p.m. All are welcome at the service.
