![]() Gregory Moore '80 Featured on NPR Weekend Edition March 27, 2006 DELAWARE, Ohio NPR Weekend Edition's "Editors Roundtable" featured Denver Post editor Gregory Moore, a 1976 graduate and member of the Ohio Wesleyan Board of Trustees, on Sunday. Moore, the first African-American editor at a major daily U.S. newspaper, joined Bob Kittle, editor of The San Diego Union-Tribune editorial page, David Wells, editor of The Cincinnati Enquirer editorial page, and show host Liane Hansen. The trio discussed how President George Bush's administration policy on Iraq is affecting local election campaigns.Last week the Post published an editorial "Bush should finish what he started." Moore went on to comment that the majority of Colorado supports the war, but there is concern that long-term it could have a negative impact on local politics. "Local politics - long controlled by republicans went democratic in the last election," said Moore. "There is concern the executive branch could turn over to democratic control and the war would play a role in that election. The politics of war are significant in the local political atmosphere." |
