Ohio Wesleyan Appoints Two New Directors

Ohio Wesleyan University has hired a new Director of Major Gifts and promoted a current employee to the newly created position of Director of the Annual Fund.

Darrel Gibson, a 1987 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan, is the new Director of Major Gifts. Gibson, a resident of Westerville, most recently served as Vice President for Planned Giving for the American Heart Association in Columbus. Previously, he spent four years at The Ohio State University working in the areas of major gifts and planned giving. Gibson’s primary responsibilities will include managing and developing strategies to implement the next university-wide capital campaign.

Candace Ott has been promoted to Director of the Annual Fund. Ott, a resident of Delaware, joined Ohio Wesleyan in October 2003, previously serving as OWU’s Associate Director of Annual Giving. Ott is a 2003 graduate of The Ohio State University, where she majored in psychology. In her new role, she will be responsible for raising funds to support student scholarships and programs, faculty needs, and university equipment enhancements.
