Gym Class Heroes to Perform at Ohio Wesleyan April 18

DELAWARE, OHIO – Ohio Wesleyan University will host the indie/hip-hop fusion band Gym Class Heroes at its annual SpringFest event at 8 p.m. April 18 in the university’s Gordon Field House, inside Branch Rickey Physical Education Center, 105 S. Sandusky St. Tickets, which are $10 for Ohio Wesleyan students and $20 for all others, are now available online at www.TicketWeb.com or at the university’s Information Desk inside Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, 40 Rowland Ave., open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Blending a mix of rap, rock, and R&B into its musical style, Gym Class Heroes is best known for its recent chart-topping singles “Cupid’s Chokehold” and “Clothes Off!” The four-member band—formed in upstate New York in 1997 by classmates MC Travis “Schleprok” McCoy and drummer Matt McGinley—has performed alongside groups including Fall Out Boy, Less Than Jake, and Naughty by Nature.

Held each year for more than a decade, Ohio Wesleyan’s SpringFest has attracted musical acts such as New Found Glory and Ben Folds.
