Washington joined the University of Dayton in 2001, where he oversaw employee relations, served as a member of the senior human resources leadership, and helped to ensure that staff development and training needs were met. Prior to joining the University of Dayton, he worked as a supervisor of human resources for Dayton Power and Light, where his duties included recruitment and benefits administration. Washington, who currently resides in Dayton, holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Wright State University and has earned PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification. At Ohio Wesleyan, he reports to Eric S. Algoe, vice president for finance and administration. Washington oversees all human resources functions, including employee hiring, payroll and benefits, and policy development. “Troy’s background in higher education brings a new element of experience, professionalism, and cultural awareness to the role at Ohio Wesleyan,” Algoe said. “His work with the faculty as their labor relations representative at the University of Dayton was highly lauded by faculty members and the administration alike.
