DELAWARE, OH – Ohio Wesleyan University fine arts major Anh Vu, a senior from Vietnam, has been selected as an award winner in the 2011 annual Awards for Excellence in the Visual Arts sponsored by the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Ohio (AICUO).

Vu is among a group of six Ohio college students who will participate in a panel discussion and awards reception April 13 during a free public event at Ohio Wesleyan. Vu’s series of three artist’s books titled “Organics” will be on exhibit at the reception.

“It’s a great experience for undergraduate students to have to prepare a portfolio and write statements, as we did for this award,” Vu said. “This provides good preparation for real-world work after graduation.”

Fine arts faculty from independent colleges in Ohio were asked to nominate two outstanding senior artists from each campus for this competition. Learn more about the student nominees and the AICUO awards.
