Expert Source: Theresa S. Byrd, Ed.D.


Theresa Byrd is Ohio Wesleyan’s chief information officer and director of libraries. In those roles, she serves as head of a merged information technology/library organization that includes libraries, audiovisual, administrative computing, academic computing, technical support, networking, and training. She is a member of EDUCAUSE, the Council of Library and Information Resources Chief Information Officers, the Consortium of Liberal Arts Colleges, the National Institute for Technology and Liberal Education, the American Library Association, and the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL). She has been active with consortia, such as OhioLINK, the Five Colleges of Ohio, and the Virtual Library of Virginia Project. She is known for her work with the ACRL Dr. E.J. Josey Spectrum Scholars Mentor Program, which works to develop the next generation of academic librarians.
