John Krygier specializes in cartography, geographic information systems (GIS), and environmental and human geography. His research interests include cartography and map design for GIS, internet cartography, critical cartography and GIS, mapping in the arts and humanities, participatory GIS, multimedia and hypermedia mapping, using sound to communicate geographic information, animated maps, the design and evaluation of multimedia teaching materials, the history of mapping, and environmental studies and environmental history.
